Our Work
The Isaac Centre for Public Policy (ICPP) aims to achieve excellence in three strands of work:
Academic Programmes & Executive Education
Building on Ashoka University’s renowned Economics programme, ICPP will in collaboration with the Economics department offer an interdisciplinary undergraduate program in Economics and Public Policy. This programme will provide the rigorous training necessary to deal with economic policy problems.
The centre will also support the Young India Fellowship by introducing a module on public policy. With the help of the Experiential Learning Module, Fellows will have the opportunity to work on case studies with exposure to real-time problems.
The Executive Education programme will cater to government servants and corporate executives. Designed with an initial focus on venture capital and private equity executives, the executive education for corporate executives will be a high-quality course led by practitioners of the space. Executive education for government servants will have an initial focus on state cadre officials and aim to provide response modules for IAS officers.
Policy & Practitioner Led Research
Led by full-time and visiting faculty, the research is envisaged to cut across economics and other disciplines such as Political Science, Media Studies, Computer Science, and Biological Sciences in Ashoka University. Research grants will be given to proposals that demonstrate clear policy relevance. You can find our ongoing research projects here.
The centre will also target to produce policy briefs, in depth case studies, and research notes led by practitioners. They will be rigorous, data and experience driven studies to highlight lessons for policy design, implementation, and evaluation. The case studies will bring together experienced civil servants and experienced case study writers to bring out lessons from policy design and implementation in a case format. The policy briefs contributors are bureaucrats, policymakers, thoughtful practitioners and private sector leaders. You can find more about policy briefs and case studies here.
Public Policy Events
ICPP will aim to disseminate its research, case studies, and policy briefs through periodic workshops and marquee conferences. Thematic workshops will be hosted in collaboration with other centres at Ashoka.
ICPP will organise a marquee annual conference that will bring together all stakeholders: academicians, think-tanks, practitioners, and civil servants. The conference will highlight issues that are critical to the country, attract stellar speakers and audience, and influence the discourse on the issue. You can find more about events here.
