He is the Distinguished University Professor of Economics at Ashoka University. His research interests include Cooperative Game Theory, Mechanism Design, Formation of Groups and Networks, Social Choice Theory and Development Economics. He has been Professor of Economics at the University of Warwick since 2000.

He is the Director and Head of the Isaac Centre for Public Policy (ICPP) at Ashoka University. He works closely with the Academic Director, the Advisory Board and University Leadership to run the ICPP.
